Following today’s Scottish Cup draw, which paired Rangers with Dundee United at Tannadice on 2nd or 3rd February 2013, the USP Group Representatives unanimously urges the loyal Rangers support to participate in a full boycott of the game.

Dundee United were one of those clubs who voted against allowing Rangers entry to the SPL, and their Chairman Stephen Thompson has repeatedly, through his actions at high powered meetings, intimated further punishment to be administered on our club.

The Rangers support has waited patiently for the opportunity to send a clear message to those that tried to destroy our club – starve them of their much needed cash by boycotting this game.

It must also be remembered the disregard this club had for Rangers supporters when it unashamedly refused to offer refunds to supporters for a game abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch in 2009.

We ask the support to resist temptation of attending the game but rather give your hard-earned cash to a Rangers friendly pub, bar or club.

We also understand the desire to support the team – the fans have demonstrated this to unbelievable lengths of loyalty – but we ask that on this occasion in a one-off display of fan power we show that we have not been beaten or broken.

Our unending support of the team in SFL matches and games against non-SPL opposition continues unabated.

Together we stand, divided we fall.

An Article by Blue92

EVERY Rangers fan dreams of pulling on that famous blue jersey.

A clichéd statement perhaps, but of the hundreds of thousands of Bears around the world, you’ll be hard-pushed to find one who hasn’t thought of what it would be like.

A number of Rangers-supporting players have left the club in the past few days, seeking a fresh challenge away from Ibrox.

While every Rangers fan should be forever grateful that those players took massive wage cuts and played their hearts out for the last few months of last season, walking out of the club now is a difficult pill to swallow for the supporters.

And if it’s bad for the fans, spare a thought for Ally McCoist.

The man who has probably elevated himself to the position of ultimate Rangers hero with his actions over the past few months has shown unwavering loyalty to those players. Maybe they could have given him something in return.

But they’re gone now, and just a handful of recognised professionals remain, ready to give their all no matter where Rangers find themselves playing next year.

Lee McCulloch laid his cards on the table long ago, and is one of those definitely staying.

The man who’s played almost every position other than goalkeeper in his five years at the club should receive immortal status for his loyalty and commitment.

Off the park, you couldn’t meet a more down-to-earth, friendly guy.

He has time for every supporter who approaches him, and is only too happy to pose for photographs and sign autographs.

A recent Real Radio special in which McCulloch was interviewed in depth revealed his strong Rangers family, and his pride in playing for the club he loves.

His charm and wit in the programme came across immediately – very much like manager McCoist’s does whenever he appears in the broadcast media.

On the pitch, he is every bit a supporter.

Yes, he gets booked too often, but that just demonstrates his absolute commitment to the cause.

Fierce in the tackle, instructing and encouraging his teammates and determined to do whatever it takes to win, he’s the epitome of what every true Rangers player should be.

In these days of top players earning upwards of £200,000, it speaks volumes for the man that he offered to play for free when the club entered administration last season.

He could have sat and accepted the 75% cut – but no, he wanted to go above and beyond the call of duty. What an incredibly selfless act.

“The club and the support have been great with me, through the good times and the bad, i thought it was a chance to give something back, and show my appreciation to them. That’s why i got my lawyer to make that offer to Duff & Phelps” Lee McCulloch

A real and true Rangers man, it’s hard to think of anyone that showed and will continue to show more devotion to the club.

Surely, he is the only candidate for the illustrious club captaincy next season

McCoist as manager and McCulloch as captain.

What a fantastic double-act to lead Rangers back to the top.

Rangers Football Club – Who and What we are.

MES Que en Club – “More than a Club.”

The motto used famously by Barcelona is claimed by supporters of other football clubs the world over.

It’s a term that certainly rings true when considering Scotland’s Greatest Sporting Institution – Rangers FC.
No professional football club in the world is more decorated, with Rangers claiming the Scottish League Championship on a world record 54 occasions, the Scottish Cup 33 times, the Scottish League Cup 27 times and the European Cup Winners Cup once in 1972.
Success and Rangers go hand-in-hand – the scale of success made all the more astonishing given the club’s paltry and remarkable beginning.

Four boys all in their teens – Moses and Peter McNeil, Peter Campbell and William McBeath began The Rangers in 1872 on a public playing field, without any of the equipment deemed necessary for staging a football match today.

It would have been surely incomprehensible for any of those four young lads to imagine what their hobby was to become, and what it would mean to hundreds of thousands of loyal follwers spread across all four corners of the planet.

Supporters have been blessed to have witnessed some of the world’s greatest football talents ply their trade in the relative football backwater of Scotland – testament to how the Rangers name has resonated globally.
Jim Baxter, Davie Cooper and Brian Laudrup are three of many supremely talented individuals who could have graced any team in any league.

In more recent times, foreign players have made up a noticeable percentage of the playing squad, but the warmth and passion they speak about the club with illustrates the impact Rangers had on their lives.

Jorg Albertz, Giovanni Van Bronckhorst, Arthur Numan, Lorenzo Amoruso and Dado Prso are just five of a long list of players from abroad to have built a special affinity with the club and its supporters.

“Once a Ranger, always a Ranger” – a term apt to those who remain addicted to Rangers after a spell with the club.

What makes Rangers special above all else though, is the traditions set by those four “Gallant Pioneers” and legendary manager Bill Struth amongst others.

reminded that upholding tradition at Rangers is of the utmost importance.

To this day, new players receive a document explaining how they are expected to behave, and how they must play their part in ensuring those strict traditions remain unchanged.

Although fashionable for some in the modern era, no Rangers manager is allowed to coach his team from the sidelines in anything other than a full club suit.

Perhaps small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but it is an example of just one of a number of things that makes Rangers different.

Rangers home, Ibrox Stadium is one of Europe’s finest football arenas, and even when empty is a quite magnificent sight both inside and out.

What makes it more special though, is its modern day state is a permanent memorial to those 66 supporters who lost their lives on January 2nd 1971.

The club’s darkest day continues to be marked and remembered, and no Rangers follower will ever forget their fellow fans lost in the Ibrox Disaster.

On the field and in the boardroom, Rangers now find themselves in a state of flux.

Years of scandalous mismanagement has left Rangers uncertain of their fate ahead of the new season.

Nobody knows who’ll be running the club, nor what league they’ll be playing in.

Of all the uncertainties, there is one thing that remains constant however.

Few clubs, if any have a support as passionate and as loyal as that of Rangers.

Supporting Rangers is a way of life for its fans – and that is something that nobody can ever take away.

“Blue92″

Written By Shane Nicholson From Chicago.

So how easy is it for one to walk away?

Well, if you’re an American, the anonymity provided makes it pretty simple. Buy a new shirt for a different side, start frequenting a different bar on match days, and TAH-DAH!, you’re free and clear.

Maybe the beautiful football of Barca would make for a better weekend experience nowadays, and the trophy haul’s an added bonus. Plus there’s that little guy named Messi I hear so much about.

Or you could fall in line with the millions of Manchester United supporters that have been cranked out in the past decade, the ones who never knew Alex Ferguson as anything but “Sir”.

And of course there’s the totally off the wall selections out there, maybe an Atalanta or Sampdoria, FC Lorient or PSG (no to l’OM, of course), or just pick a CSKA, any CSKA, and reinvent your footballing self in a few clicks around your favorite online kit shop.

For some of us walking away would be pretty easy. And that’s why our commitment means just as much as any other Bear out there.

No, we don’t make two-dozen trips to Ibrox a year, and our online profiles don’t have the section our season ticket is in. Most of us don’t have a box full of pins and programs we’ve collected from the hundreds of matches we’ve attended over the years.

But we do have 4AM trips to the bar where we’ve cut a deal with the owner to keep his doors open well past closing time for us. The living rooms of friends we gather in on weekends to watch Rangers play on shoddy internet streams, ignoring the calls and texts of our respective better-halves asking us where we got off to as we wake up an entire apartment complex with a nod ofF Edu’s head.

There are those of us who happened into the good fortune of being chosen. Maybe it came from the glory days of watching Coisty, Gazza, and Laudrup on the old SportsNet. Maybe someone bought them a shirt as a gift on a holiday in Scotland. Whatever the path, they have answered the call.

For some of us, me included, it’s a family affair, going back to when our grandfathers and great-grandfathers left Glasgow on a boat bound for America. In some cases men we never met, or whose image is a shadow in our mind based on a snap above the fireplace, have left an indelible impression on our lives and that of future generations.

Toss in a smattering of ex-pats to help lead the way and you’ve got a proud community of supporters carrying on the traditions set in us by those who came before, hundreds of thousands of Bluenoses from New York to LA and all points between.

So yeah, it would be easy for some to walk away in what has been our darkest hour, to run off with a new fling promising world class players and weekly broadcasts of matches in glistening HD on ESPN and Fox Soccer. Just drop out of the forums, maybe start up a new twitter account, and let the Blue Sea of Ibrox slowly fade away.

But in doing so, one would commit the ultimate failing of a Rangers supporter, near or far, not only letting themselves down but our community of supporters as a whole. And for that reason–even thousands of miles across the Atlantic in a place where one is more apt to be identified by the NFL team they follow, than the football club they would lay it down for–we don’t do walking away.

During the course of the last few days a group of concerned Rangers fans began looking at the fans having a say in the future of our club, not just a token say, a real voice and a real input.
During the course of the thread made on Follow Follow by Zak-De-La-Ranger some excellent ideas had been raised and a few posters had mentioned our proposal as being something already there that might be of help to them.

During various phone calls, Emails and messages Rangers Unite received an invite to the meeting, with the primary aim of advising and explaining some of the good work we have done.

I think it is safe to say, that everyone who attended the meeting left feeling invigorated, full of fresh hope, and at least a little more hopeful that things are being done to try and save the club, and also to put measures in place to make sure this situation never arises again, as most of us know, a second administration is very much possible.

What we would like to do is publish the minutes from the meeting so that people who never knew about it can see what went on.

The meeting took place in the upstairs function suite at Dow’s bar in Glasgow (Opp side exit of Queen St Station)

Minutes as received

DATE: 04/06/2012
TIME: 14:00

PRESENT: Allan, Ross, Jim, Nick, Keith Jim W, Ronnie, Jim B, Robert, Alex, Paul, Andy S & Andy C

1. Introducing RangersUnite and the overall concept

a. The RangersUnite Presence in Forums except Followfollow & Vanguard Bears
b. Many of these posters unaware of RangersUnite
c. No Privileges to post on FF
d. Initial concerns raised over £5m sale to SEVCO consortium
d. Raising sufficient capital would be feasible
e. Fans unable to attend in person – but have a big part to play

2. Structure of RangersUnite and Plan

a. RangersUnite was first and foremost a long term plan
b. But important to recognise and take opportunities that arise
c. This opportunity is a rare one for Rangers Supporters – has to be taken
d. Regular liaison with Brian Kennedy over a long period
e. Met with and had initial high level observations with Neil Patey
f. Rangers will eventually need to meet financial fair play rules
g. Supporter Ownership
h. Presence within the mainstream media has been deliberately low
i. Best funding vehicle will be an Industrial & Provident Society
j. Friction amongst groups is a problem – RU hopes to be the glue that binds them
k. Fans provide 40% and more of the turnover
l. Not one member of SEVCO will own more than 15% of Rangers Football Club
m. Likely 15% will be around £1.275M – an easily reachable target
n. Initially RangersUnite would be an additional funder ran alongside that
o. Offering an exit strategy to investors who want to leave SEVCO early
p. Targeting the lowest investors first who may want to exit SEVCO
q. Regular small montly payment more even than relying solely on Season Ticket money

3. No meeting available with Charles Green until after the 14th June

4. Fan Ownership

a. Important that fan ownership is accessible to everyone
b. inclusion, not exclusion
c. The Fan Liaison is hugely important – Jim Hannah, Fans, Sandy Jardine etc
d. Regional representatives would be available to across the globe
e. Grassroots is very important – how will the ordinary punter know?
f. Informaing the offline fans will be a tough task – big effort needed from all parties
g. “RSC Connect” idea Giving all clubs a voice and link up to each other
h. Season Ticket holder group – allowing self control and less power to stewards.

Following more disingenous spin on the Value of Blue Knights Bid we clarify the following :
Payable on completion of CVA (around end July) we will pay £5.5m net net net into the creditors pot.
On acceptance as preferred bidder, we take over all costs incurred. These are estimated at £3m per month so to end of july losses are £6m. The club are due payment of around £2.4m, from football debtors, so the cash shortfall will be £3.6m. Blue Knights will pay this.
Therefore, on exiting CVA end July the total cash out, paid by the B K investors is £5.5m plus £3.6m = £9.1m.
There will be substantially more cash required from the investors going forward from this date to ensure all costs and losses are funded.
Im sure all honest people can imagine how furious the BK investors were when they read the recent comments by Mr Whitehead attempting to confuse by focussing on the figure £2.5m.
The total amount we believe is needed to fund RFC, including the £9.1m by end June, is around £20m. Any transfer monies in would reduce this, but we may need to make some player purchases too.
Furthermore, we ask Mr Whitehouse why our current bid was considered in the right ‘ball park’ in a conversation between Mr Kennedy and Mr Clark on saturday 28th May.
We would also ask why we were told last thursday morning that given our advanced stage of due diligence, we were likely to be given preferred bidder status. In fact friday morning 11th May, there were exchanges of contracts for interim funding between our lawyers and Duff and Phelps. Clearly our bid was enough then, until a higher bid was recieved and firmed up at the eleventh hour.
We would like to add that should a higher bidder be given preferred bidder status, and such a person or persons are fit and proper and robust financially with high liklihood
of completing the deal, all Rangers men women and children should support this if it is considered this is in the best interests of the club.
The Blue Knights objective is not to own Rangers. It is to save Rangers.

1.1 Subject to the matters set out below, we are prepared to purchase free from all liens, charges, equities and encumbrances such right, title and interest as the Company has in the Shareholding and Business and Assets, and in Ibrox Stadium and Murray Park (together the Premises) for a consideration of:

1.1.4 the assumption of the football debts (up to a maximum of aggregate amount of £1,000,000) owed by the Company to Scottish football clubs;
1.1.5 on Rangers Football Club successfully qualifying for the group stages of the UEFA Champions League competition to be held in seasons 2012/13 and/or 2013/14, an additional £500,000 (for the avoidance of doubt, the maximum amount payable under this paragraph 1.5 is £1,000,000); and
1.1.6 on Rangers Football Club successfully qualifying for the quarter final stages of either of the UEFA Champions League competition to be held in seasons 2012/13 or 2013/14, an additional £1,000,000 (for the avoidance of doubt, the maximum amount payable under this paragraph 1.6 is £1,000,000).
1.2 The apportionment is subject to further discussions and will be agreed in the contract. The structure of the purchase vehicle and the Company will be in whatever form is necessary to comply with regulations as stipulated by the Scottish Football Association (SFA), the Scottish Premier League (SPL) and UEFA.

1.3 A deposit of £250,000 shall be paid forthwith on confirmation that we have been granted preferred bidder status and on the entering into of a binding exclusivity agreement to our satisfaction providing exclusivity in accordance with paragraph 9 below. Such deposit will become a non-refundable on the satisfaction of all of the conditions to our offer and set out in this offer. Until such time, the deposit shall be entirely refundable on notice from us in writing to you and until the deposit becomes non-refundable, it must be held in Duff & Phelps’ client account, on trust for us. On successful completion of the purchase of the assets by us pursuant to this offer, the deposit will be deemed to be a part payment of the amount referred to in paragraph 1.1.1 above.

Sent Tonight

David I note you have not yet replied as promised in your email below please respond as soon as you can.
Regarding your recent press announcement ..”.you were advised there was not agreement within the consortium about the funding of the bid” ….please let me know who apparently advised you of this as this is wholly inaccurate and on no occasion has anyone contacted either myself or Brian to state this is a worry.
Further to state that amounts were included in the offer for playing in europe next season when it can’t be achieved is completely inaccurate as the actual offer is for increasing the consideration in seasons 2 and 3 if they played in europe .
Further to state that the offer should be reduced by 3.5 m because these are debts due to the company is also misleading as 2.4 million of this sum is payable in the next few weeks as per Brians earlier email and will be used as cashflow for the trading losses of the club.
You completely fail to state our client had agreed to fund the huge trading losses post June 1st and picked up liabilities for 3.6 m of football creditors … tupe liabilities …debenture holders etc making a cash payable of 9.1m. plus trading losses prior to completion and European add ons together with other liabilities. You seem to be continually comparing the quantum of my clients bid against bids such as the Miller bid which are not real .
As you know I have vast experience of people making bids for insolvent football clubs ….I cannot see how any of these new parties can be making real bids when they have done no real due diligence ….proof of funds may have been provided but it does not make sense to me why investors would invest in Rangers without full due diligence by them and I would strongly recommend that full due diligence is carried out by you on these parties as there is no time to have another Miller situation .
Finally regarding your comment that Brian wanted to be the last man standing. In mine and Brians view he is as we don’t believe the other bidders will complete
If you want to talk to find a way to save this great club Brian has said his phone will be on this evening otherwise I fear it will be too late David

The draconian punishment handed down from the (previously) anonymous SFA Judicial Panel was both unprecedented and unfair. It fails to distinguish between the actions of one individual and the club – and, as has been widely discussed in the press, may very well lead to liquidation. At the very least, it has led to yet further delays in the administration process.

Even with the vast support of the fans, there is perhaps little that can be done to influence the SFA directly, but we can certainly still make a difference. We would like to encourage all fans to boycott the sponsors of the SFA. Please see the image below; feel free to distribute this online via social media and forums.

Written By RangersMedia.co.uk News Editor Darchevinny.

ARTICLE:

As the days and weeks that Rangers have spent in administration, continue to mount up as the joint administrators asses which bidder they prefer, the support still sits idly watching our club slip closer to a liquidation scenario.

We have business men who are interested in taking over the club, from Craig Whyte, but will any business man be happy in the long term, with a company that is never going to make a decent return.

Let’s face facts, Rangers are never going to make money for any businessman. The best we can hope for in Scotland, is to break-even, whilst winning titles and cups and performing above expectations in Europe. Is that enough for the likes of Bill Miller and Bill Ng?

Bill Ng says he is a lifelong fan, but so did Craig Whyte, so we can’t be expected to lap that up as easily as we did last time.

The Blue Knights have ‘stepped back’ from the race for Rangers, which leaves the Rangers Supporters Trust/Association/Assembly in an interesting position.

The above supportes groups were involved with and fully behind The Blue Knight’s bid, but what now? Earlier this week on this very news page, JCS made the point that ‘unity is strength’, these fan groups, displayed unity and looked strong behind The Blue Knight’s bid.

Will they now support one of the remaining bidders? Or will this unity we have seen, come to an abrupt stop?

I sincerely hope the unity doesn’t end, we are seriously lacking a leader. But I do think we only need one group/association/trust, call it what you want. We need one leader. One leader made up of numerous groups, but one leader all the same.

We have to unite. I don’t know how many times people are going to say this, or how many time I have to say this before it actually happens. The groups I have referred to above, don’t represent anywhere close to the majority of the support. They all have fairly minor memberships, but the loudest voices.

There is a new vehicle for uniting with your fellow supporters, one which the above fan groups should look to support, as much as they did The Blue Knight’s. It is simply called Rangers Unite.

Who are Rangers Unite?

Rangers Unite is a new fans group, open and inclusive to all supporters. Their aim? To own Rangers Football Club, through an affordable membership scheme.

Now on the surface, this may seem like an amateur pipe dream, but browsing the website – www.RangersUnite.com – you get a much better feel for the proposal.

Now I am not going to go in to too much detail, all the information can be found on the website. I would seriously urge you to go have a look and register your interest.

This proposal, may not be able to change our current situation immediately and it can be certainly be argued that ownership isn’t exactly at the top of our priority list right now.

Who is to say that a new owner, taking the club out of administration, would be the end of our problems? Too many of us – and myself as much as any other – thought that Craig Whyte was a saviour and look where that got us.

Fan ownership really does look like the best and most promising option for Rangers to enjoy another 140 years at the top of Scottish football. Many of you may well rubbish that claim, but how else can we ensure we don’t get in to a financial hell like this again?

The fans are the club. I know it, you know it, the bidders know it, the administrators know it and the manager knows it.

This is our club.

We can’t make it happen tomorrow, but we can certainly start to work towards it today. Visit Rangers Unite and register your interest like I have done. It doesn’t cost a penny, so what’s stopping you?
